Demon Gaze! PS Vita Game "Review"

Demon Gaze(デモンゲイズ) is a Dungeon Crawler style RPG that has been a popular PS Vita Title in Japan for a while already. The protagonist lost his memory and was brought to a Tavern where he goes out as a "Gazer", one with ability to subdue demons and use them.

At the beginning you sign a contract with the landlord, Fran( フラン) in which you have to pay rent everytime you come back from your exploring (cute face, still evil smile and asshole for making me drop considerable amounts of money for rent)

Demongeizu
Though you can make some money back by taking some of her quests which involve subduing some demons and bringing back to her (not enough to cover what she ripped me, though)

There are also some other characters in the Tavern, such as Puromesu(プロメス). She revives your characters for a certain price and acts as a storage manager, allowing you to initially store up to 1000 Items.

I'm not going to post the gay elf and the weapon dealer because they are men and they do not deserve space here, but basically the elf sells you some wizard weapons and tools such as gems(will explain later) and potions. The weapon dealer is a weapon dealer. nuff said.

Your room is on the second floor. At the beginning you start with only 1 character, but it gradually increases after you expand your roost by paying increasing amounts of money to Fran(Isn't the rent money enough???!)

Let's go to the fun part. Character creation.
Demongeizu
So basically this game has an extensive roost of character looks you can choose from. 45 types, 7 jobs and 5 races. You can also put a combination of voices. 60 in total 30 female voices and 30 male voices.(Yes, you can put a female voice on a Male character so it sounds like he is moaning or have a "girly" voice or a male voice on a Female character if you're into that.)

So let's move into Dungeons for now.
There are many Dungeons and exploring all of them will for sure take a good amount of time, so it's just more fun added.

Manual Movement, 3D features Dungeon exploring has never been so fun!

Demongeizu
You are moving your character on a 1st person view around the dungeon. There is a mini-map, so you won't get lost. There is also the option of auto pilot, which you set a point on the map which you have already explored and you get there without needing to go there manually. You can also leave notes on the floor in which by connecting to PSN, you leave hints or indicate places for the players to go, or where to kick the wall in order to unlock some sort of secret. By connecting to the PSN at the beginning of the dungeon, you can also read the players' scattered notes and follow their tips.

The Battle System:

The Battle System is self-explanatory. The first command is Fight, in which... um you attack. The second one is Defend, in which increases your defense for the turn. Third one is to use spells. Fourth is the Potion Icon, in which you can use potions to recover Life, cast spell potions or etc. Fifth one is to Run away. Last one is the Demon Icon, which enables you to perform certain tricks with the Demons or to Summon them at cost of some points which is indicated at the top left. You gain points by attacking the enemies and killing them. If you want to repeat the same commands from last turn, press Triangle, it will perform the same attacks of the last turn.

The Treasure Cauldron

Basically you will encounter these during your expedition (the unpurified one is purple colored). They allow you to summon monsters to fight by converting gems that you bought or found on the way.(This is where the elf guy comes to be useful) If you defeat the monsters, you get weapons or items accordingly on which type of gem you used. Purify all purple Cauldrons and this Icon will appear somewhere in the Map:

Demongeizu

They are Boss Battle Icons, you get to fight a Demon on their awakened form. Defeat it and bring back to Fran for your reward.

So that's it for the review of Demon Gaze, see you guys next time for Project Diva!
