That's right folks, we're looking at a new Anime for the series -however there is some very dramatic changes to the franchise- including a new design for our favourite Motoko!
Limited information -kinsoku jikou desu~ more probably at the moment- reveals that it starts production this year and that Production IG's Kise Kazuchika is the one overseeing the entire thing.
Below is what the production is boasting on what appears to be a new look (or another body) for Motoko:
The new look obviously gave into speculation as to where the new production fits into canon and while redesigning the Major is daring, few people would want a risk in changing her seiyuu.

It appears to be as Anti-Moe as you can go. Psycho Pass, in it's quest against Moe should take a few lessons from that character design.
ReplyDeleteIf I am going to be ignorant, I'd have speculated that the success of SAO is a sign to producers that another Ghost in The Shell will be well, or even better received.
